I just had a recall done because I did not have a service message ever showing up.

Question can you access the distance until the next service or do you have to wait for the warning?????? tried but could not find a screen

On My Merc you could see how many days and Km before next service any time. It started off showing 20,00KM or 730 days and counted down depending on driving style if you accessed the information.

Set the ignition to the ON position.
Open the hood.
Open the drivers door.
NOTE: A service resetting message will appear on the instrument cluster.
Fully depress both the accelerator and brake pedals and hold for 60 seconds.
Set the ignition to the OFF position.
Set the ignition to the ON position and check the message has been cleared.
If the message remains, repeat the process.

Finally had the software update so the car will show service do message. Immediately after the update a service overdo message appeared ,dealer wanted cash to reset when they did the software upgrade. Computer already connected so I could see no extra work. Had service done at other shop on due date.

as I followed the above instruction NO Service resetting message appeared only a warning that the door and "bonnet" where open
So I then opened the hood and then door before turning ignition on still no message.

So I continued holding the pedals for 120 seconds and the service overdo message is gone.

The only question is when will it turn back on??? From first placed in service or the date of reset????

Well I just found out the answer to my question, message popped up yesterday saying service required in 3200 KM or just about the time I reset it last summer. I went out for breakfast and the next message said service in 3150 KM after going less than 2 KM. LOL.

I had done a reset last December when I had my service but I guess if you do not have the warning you can not do the reset.

So I can either live with the warning each time I start the car or do an early service.

Just reset the service screen today without any problems.

I had a oil change shop do the labour while I supplied the oil and filter, and the instructions on how to reset the warning came up on their computer , so it looks like Land Rover is not keeping it a secret.
