Imagine my horror when I washed the new DS and saw water sheeting.... Did they forgot clear coat on this thing?

Anyhow, pics forthcoming, but I washed, clayed, did a pass of Klasse All-in-One and then followed up the next morning with Klasse High Gloss Sealant. Not only is the paint going to look freshly waxed for 6 months, but water will bead off so hard it might as well bounce.

...and then explain to me why the picture is upside down when I attach it in this web interface?

How many months is your DS since purchase ?

It may have been a detailing oversight from the dealer.

Normally when the dealer receives the car, they remove the plastic covers and then detail it.

It's only a few weeks old. The car was nice and clean when we drove it off - having been sitting out on the "overflow lot." My guess is just a shoddy job. Most insane detailers on forums I lurk on prefer their cars un-detailed from the dealership. That way they can ensure the job gets done right. I'm only like 50% insane.

I'm with you on that. My DS is black and I saw some light swirls and some holograms/buffer trails but I am going to use a filler wax and coat it with Opti Seal. Lasts a year or so if you don't maintain it but you use a quick detailer you can get 3 years out of one coat of Opti Seal.
