Hello,

I bought a Discovery Sport MY 2016 with the standard sound system. I'm totally excited about the car, but unfortunately not about the sound system. Does anyone have experience how the sound system can be expanded?

I’ve found the system has some quirks that can cause poor performance. All of it is related to the audio mixing between the Nav and stereo and some is due to mixing on the attached devices. My theory is that the levels end up too high, causing a protection fault within the system.

Tips to try:
Enter the Nav app, and turn it to mute.
On you attached device, set it to silent mode, or close the device and shut off all notifications.

My experience is that I will be playing the stereo at higher volumes, I will reach a GPS waypoint, get an alert from the Nav unit, then the audio will come back on at a lower volume with poor quality.

If I avoid the issues mentioned above, the audio is much better. The bass is better, but still underwhelming compared to other cars I’ve owned.
