I just noticed on TOPIx that I have an Outstanding Campaign now (Q495 - New InControl Touch). The Activity Stream continues to change. However, I thought it listed all items that might be related to the DS, but instead I think it lists ALL bulletins, etc., that come out. It used to show the Fuel Gauge fix, but that must have scrolled off the list. Anyone know how to search so that you only get DS related issues? I can find the fuel gauge fix by searching on "fuel gauge", but what if other issues are repaired/fixed and I won't see them because they've scrolled off the Activity Stream? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I just had my car returned from service today (Fixing a stuck front door due to a panel being slightly too large, took over 2 months to get sorted), and they did the Q495 InControl Update. Not sure exactly what it does, other than have to re-pair my phone and program my stations.

From the invoice:

"Cause: 869037 Front Audio Control Module - System Diagnosis - Includes Configuration of New ECU:

I will say it seems the transmission was tuned, as I don't get the hum/vibration at 1500 rpms any more.

I have read elsewhere that others don't know what it does and they had to reprogram things. I'm hoping maybe it lets some settings stick. I can't get the Nav volume level to stick between restarts or the SMS announcements (they keep turning back on and I want them off). I'll probably wait until I'm closer to 10k mile (salesman recommended 6500 and others have gone in at 7500 although I think the general recommendation is 10k, but my salesmans said BMW dropped back from 10k because they had to replace too many worn engines).

I don't see any way to tune the consumer version of TOPIX to bring up vehicle specific concerns. Searching by terms works, but not very handy.
Your dealer should be able to answer that type of question on a visit, or even on a call if you had heard/or read of a new bulletin or Service Action. When a DDW (warranty verification) gets pulled up it shows any pending actions for that VIN. When TOPIX is pulled up by VIN, it shows any bulletins that MAY apply to that VIN, - there are some with qualifiers based on equipment, concern etc...
The bottom line is - your dealer gets paid to fix the car - they should be happy to see if there is anything that needs done, but I wouldn't spend a bunch of time checking for new bulletins or anything - I hope that helps.
As for Q495, the concerns it addresses are below.
Discovery Sport (LC)
Model Year:
2015-2016
VIN:
501001-549571
Manufacturing Plant:
Halewood
Situation: A limited number of 2015-2016 model year Discovery Sport (L550) vehicles may experience one or more of the following issues:

• Touch Screen is blank;
• Poor Navigation system functionality;
• Unable to tune HD® Radio substations;
• Audio system defaults to 'ON' upon engine start-up, even if 'OFF' on engine shutdown; and/or
• SDARS does not retain station presets

I just noticed that after applying Q495 update, the "Speed limit warning" in Satnav is now removed. After going into Navigation's Settings, the option is no longer there.

Does anyone know if it is really gone? or can we access it somewhere else? Thanks!

I just checked TOPIx again because my car is almost at 10k miles and the Q495 campaign is no longer listed. How can that be? I haven't had the car back in to the dealer after the campaign became active. Did JLR pull it and stop applying the update? Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

I had mine in last month for a check engine light. They did the InControl update at that time..probably the (Q495). Just let them know that you need the InCortol update done...for some reason they called it a recall...but that was probably just their generic terminology.
