I know many of you don't have the surround camera but I just figured out another "feature" -- if the car is in park and I press the camera button the surround camera view appears! This is much easier than trying to press the camera touchscreen while the car is moving (which doesn't work all that well, anyway). This should help me get the surround camera view displayed when I'm trying to park between the lines in my parking garage because I can put the car in park at the gate, hit the camera button, and then drive in when the gate raises. Neat.

With my Infiniti, which had 360 degree cameras as well, if I was parking and pressed the camera button (when moving slowly - the cameras would disable above 5 mph) the surround view came on, as well as the parking sensors. This made it really easy to get into tight parking spaces and get lined up properly. With the DS I have to press the camera button (when moving), then select the camera view icon at the bottom, and then select the 360 view (and even then the parking sensor doesn't come on). And when backing up, I had two views - the rear camera and 360 on the Infiniti. Is there anyway to set-up the cameras on the DS to do the same thing?

I don't think you can configure how it works. However, since that post of mine, I also figured out I can turn on the 360 camera while in neutral. Whenever I pull up to the gate at my parking deck, I almost stop, put the car in neutral, and press the camera button to get the 360 camera. I believe it also turns on the parking sensors at that time as well (if that helps your situation).

Thanks, was hoping to be able to configure - but assumed it wasn't possible :( I'll give your suggestion a try, though still not as convenient as on the Infiniti. Love the car so far (have only had it since the beginning of Sept.), but find there are functions that should be better and would seemingly be easy to do, as others have already done them (the cameras, not being able to cycle through your pre-sets on the radio, no scan function on the radio - simple stuff). Oh well, no one vehicle is perfect for everyone.

Agreed. Some of the features could be better. I had an Audi rental the other day and when i start to pull into a parking space the display change automatically to a surround view! Pretty neat. Maybe on a future DS? ;-). The inability to cycle through pre-sets on the radio is a real PITA. I read somewhere that they were going to change that in the software, but that hasn't happen in any of my updates so far.

rcbjr2 - You mentioned that perhaps some improvements to the audio system would be made in updates. Being new to the DS - what updates are you referring to, and how do I go about getting them? I assume this would require a visit to the dealer??

Yes, you would have to get any updates from the dealer. Bluetooth music sounded horrible on my DS for the first 8 months or so until I got a software update (sorry, not sure which one), so I know that the updates are available. After I got that update, though, I lost my HD radio stations (the alternate ones other than HD 1), but I received another instrument cluster/media system update a couple months ago and the HD stations are back (I went in because the speed limit sign indicator kept flipping to night mode at random times and the dealer installed the update because of this, but it fixed the HD issue but didn't completely fix the "night" mode issue (although it doesn't happen as often)). I don't know that they do the installs by default. I think you have to complain about some issue. My thought is that they should install all updates available when you're there, but I don't think they do that, so you'll have to ask.

More than likely you have to go into the dealer, have yet to hear about over the air updates or anything on that level, much unlike what Tesla has. JLR being who they are should get on top of stuff like this.
