sunglasses constantly get stuck in holder

does anybody else have this problem? Strangely enough, the holder is built the same way in the other cars I've owned or been in, but some reason, my sunglasses always get STUCK in the DS's holder.

Sometimes the bottom part of the temples get caught, other times it's the front or top part of the lenses. I have 2 different pairs of sunglasses and it happens to both of 'em.

Just curious if others have experienced the same thing. Right now, I just keep a parking pass in the holder instead.

I don't put sunglasses in the holder as it causes rattling noises on speed bumps and sharp turns. I am thinking of putting a lint free cloth in there for quick access.
Yes, I have the same issue; only my issue has "evolved".

First it was getting stuck when trying to close or open. Then it was closing, but the sunglass holder is slightly protruded about 1 centimeter. Now it won't stay closed for long. I put my sunglasses in there, or my regular glasses, and the door doesn't exactly latch. Then over the next few minutes, it will wiggle itself loose as I'm driving and protrued about an inch and eventually (after 10-15 minutes) open completely. I'm bringing it back to the dealer to get resolved. I think this is a defect and they need to hear from us about it.

Holder broke the first week - POS. Won't close flush anymore or open or close firmly. Not worth having it fixed. I do use it as a lint cloth holder though, still works well for that LOL.
There's a service bulletin for this. Just ask the dealership to fix it next time you take it in.
never had problems with my sunglass holder. Just put my glasses in backward, i.e. looking towards the front of the car. Closes fine, no rattles.

I had trouble with mine locking up and not opening and the dealer replaced it. Works fine now. It's still somewhat cheap plastic, so I don't think it'll last forever, but it works better than the first one I had.
YES! The glasses compartment is definitely smaller than other vehicles and a little flimsy. I just don't use it anymore.

Still love the vehicle. I just put my glasses in the cubby in front of the shifter.

The one in my wife's Audi Q7 is even SMALLER! I can't believe anything can actually fit in the sunglass holder in the Q7. Amazing. :)
