Hello,

I am looking for underbody protecction for my DS, the plastic engine cover is totally unsufficient.

I found a couple of options for engine covers.

Alluminium: https://rivalauto.pl/en/land-rover/2990-skid-plate-for-engine-gearbox-land-rover-discovery-sport-2014-all-4-mm-alu.html

Steel: https://www.sump-guard.co.uk/steel-sump-guard-for-land-rover-discovery-sport

I am tempted to go with the cheaper harder steel option, but I would appreciate any insigth or first hand experience you guys might have.

Also I found this kit https://rivalauto.pl/en/land-rover/2996-skid-plate-set-full-kit-4-pcs-land-rover-discovery-sport-2014-4wd-20-240hp-4wd-22d-188hp-not-for-active-drive-.html but it seems like, unlike the engine cover, this other plates are only suitable for the bigger engines. Is a mistake or there is actually a different in the diferencial and fuel tanks between the two engine versions?

Thanks for the help!

After half-riipping off the plastic splash shield (motor and gearbox) on an off-road excursion, I went with the 4mm Al engine/gearbox skid plate from Rival based on some recommendations from Down Under. I've been off-road once since then and so far, no issues. I was attracted to the Al plate due to its use of a lighter weight material engineered to perform comparatively to a heavier weight material.

At the end I decided to go for the steel version out of the ones I shared in my previous post.
If anyone is interested I will share my impressions about this product once I receive it and get it installed.
