Reverse lights stay on.

Has anyone had an issue where when you turn your truck off and the reverse lights stay on? Seems when I put it in park the reverse lights go on but not as bright as if it's in reverse gear.
I disconnected the battery for now so it doesn't drain.

If the car is in drive do the reverse light go on dim? Also if you park the car and leave it for a short time do the lights finally go out?

No in drive the go off but in park they are a bit dimmer. When shut off and double locked they stay on. I can come back in an hour and they still be on.
Very strange,, I thought maybe they where getting a partial feed from the lighting circuit. Sounds like something is wet, but would be hard to trace down cheaply.

Would be wierd if it were something wet. We haven't had rain in some time and the truck is parked in a garage. I was wondering if it were a reverse light switch in the tranny. Not sure if the disco has that or if it's incorporated into the electronic gear module, which was rebuilt last year due to the gear being stuck in reverse.
Reverse lamps(s) stuck onBody system fault

Reverse gear switch signal circuit short circuit to ground (manual transmission)

Transmission system fault (automatic transmission)

Reverse lamp circuit short circuit to power
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the central junction box for related DTCs and refer to the relevant DTC index

Manual transmission: Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the central junction box for related DTCs and refer to the relevant DTC index. Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the reverse gear switch signal circuit for short circuit to ground. Repair the wiring harness or install a new reverse gear switch as necessary

Automatic transmission: Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the transmission control module for related DTCs and refer to the relevant DTC index

Here's what the manual says... could be the computer, the transmission, or a short to power. First step is probably to scan for codes with a scan tool that can read LR specific codes (not a generic OBD-II scanner)
