Can someone post a good replacement battery for the OEM battery? I cannot find any matches when a look for a replacement. (2016 DS HSE) Would it be the same as a Range Rover Evoque?

can't help with your question but....did your battery already die ???
I would be very concerned if my battery went dead after a few years and probably would be complaining to LR....even if it is not cover by any warranty

My battery is not dead. I was just wondering. I was originally trying to figure out why the Auto Start/Stop never works was thinking maybe the battery is not charged. I hardly drive it during the week. I know batteries charge when driven. At some point down the road all batteries die. I was curious as to the cost of an aftermarket battery for a Land Rover Discovery Sport and could not any. The only thing I could find was the OEM battery.

JEL- stop/start in the Disco Sport is a complicated beast, I have had issues with this since I bought my car and to date 18 months later the problem is still not resolved..

If you download the guidelines to how JAL have programmed the stop/start technology you will see about 30 different variables that all need to be correct in order for the tech to work- otherwise the computer locks the function out and it wont work until the car undergoes a full factory reset.

out of the 30 odd variables two are critical, these are:

1. battery status
2. ambient external temperature

that is if is too hot outside or too cold outside the system will be over-ridden but not locked out, this is do sub variables on the pressure readouts from heating/cooling, there isn't too much tolerance in the programming so in extreme climates the stop/start does not function near as much as it should

The battery status only has a tolerance of 0.2V so if the voltage drops by this amount the computer locks the function out until a factory reset..

so this may explain some of your issues...

further, in some cars, there is a constant battery drain coming from a computer gateway module which stays awake when the car is off, this will drain the battery very quickly, is VIN dependent and has a fix for it Q634 off memory. In my case this was not the cause!

In some cars, there is wiring issues where some things are wired to terminal 30 supply, this is constant draw and again will drain the battery very very quickly- This isn't a manufacturing issue but arises more so with aftermarket products like audio/DVD and Dash Cams...JAL recommends plugging into terminal 15 live which turns off when the car does..

Moreover, and apologies for the long winded approach, in some cars, the battery charge system/battery itself are faulty and need corrected..

with respect to my car after 18 months JAL suspect a faulty battery or charge system even though on their diagnostic these systems report OK....

In all honesty the stop/start system is pretty much useless, if anything any savings achieved in fuel will be outlayed in replacing the starter motor which will fail quicker than in cars without this tech.....BUT since the feature is sold as standard it should bloody work!

Authorized Service centre fobbing me off!

Just serviced my car at the authoritative dealership (AlTayer Motors in Dubai), and bearing in mind I never had any trouble with my battery, picked it up and it was dead. The guy tells me that its quite low and needs to be replaced for an extortionate amount! The car is 2016 Disco Sport, so its only 3 years old, literally a couple of months out of warranty... coincidence???

Dead battery

I have a 2015, and it was delivered in March of '16. The car seemed fine until I took it in for the last warranty service and they told me the battery was weak and I needed to replace it. First, they told me that it was not covered because I was 2 weeks late in coming in for the first service (in '17). I then told them that I had brought the car in during the first six months because the battery died when I left one of the blinkers on. They just approved the battery under warranty. Phew!

They should have it under warranty. 3 years should not be an issue on a new battery.
