So I heard from my BMW dealer who said my X5 diesel is on a waiting list for a recalled airbag inflator and now the car is unsellable!
Apparently this BMW is part of the 1.5 million BMWs (80 million cars worldwide) that have an unstable and potentially lethal airbag inflator.
Since Takata declared bankruptcy, BMW and other manufacturers are scrambling around trying to locate replacements.
BMW is creating their own factory to replace out their inflators which puts the parts in my dealer hands sometime in 2017-2018 !
I was planning on buying out the lease when it matures in a few months, after the dealer puts a CPO warranty on it. But nope - no can do - all recalled cars are on stop sale.:crying:
I hope the DS does not use the same Takata inflators ???
Does anyone know what inflator part is used in the DS ??
