Good morning everyone. We've noticed a ticking kind of rattle sound going over bumps that appears to be coming from the rear driver side door. At first I thought it could be headrest vibration or rattling seat belt assembly but its coming from te door.

Anyone else notice any odd sounds? Other than this, it's a solid and very quiet ride.

Thanks. Yesterday, I moved the rear seats from their back position (most leg room) to the forward position and they seemed to lock in more securely. The clicking sound disappeared. I moved the seat seats back and the sound started up again.

Hope this helps. Finally, do you find the seats really firm for long rides?

Hi Gherman and disco808....did you resolve your rattles ? I picked up my disco sport last week and seem to have a very similar issue where a ticking sound seems to be coming from the rear of the drivers door / pillar whendriving on uneven road surface. Could it be speaker wiring or the exterior plastic trim vibrating against the window glass ? Driving me nuts.....Rutherr1

I read on another disco forum (UK based), it was brought up and discussed by Euro owners as well. the ticking sound seems to be coming from the pillar between the driver and rear side windows on the inside of the car. no one knows why but they are saying JLR is currently looking into it.

Thanks disco808...that seems to be the origin of the ticking in mine too. Seems to be at ear level so really distracting. I'll leave it for a while to see if it sorts itself but if not, its back to the dealer for them to check !

My car has been back to the dealers twice due to rattles and squeaks. The first time, they greased the runners below the rear seats and the second time they had to secure the trims on the rear door panels (this could be the rattle some of you are experiencing). I must say I am disappointed with the build quality after owning 4 Freelanders. There are still minor rattles and vibrations which I can't pinpoint but should not be there on a car of this quality.

I had (still have) exactly the same problem, 4 days after collecting new car on 1st Mar. The ticking, tapping, rattling sound appeared, drivers side, frame where seat belt comes out. My dealer tried 4 times to fix, NO success, Land Rover (LR) Technical Support could NOT resolve remotely, they then sent an engineer to dealer and they could still NOT resolve it. They took the car back to Halewood factory who did "extensive work on it" and, it was still NOT resolved. During this time without my car, I have had 3 different Disco Sport courteousy cars, ALL of them have exhibited exactly the SAME problem. Given all the other people experiencing this apparanetly same problem, it appears LR have a major design and or manufacturing issue and is very worrying, they cannot diagnose and fix it.

I have rattles on both B-pillars. The dealer replaced some parts but still couldn't fix it. They talked to a body shop that specializes LR, and the body shop immediately knew what happened (they said they had fixed half a dozen DS with rattles). It will take 4-5 days to finish the job.

Good thing is that the dealer said it's all covered under LR warranty.

We have the rattling in the back seat also. I'm sending it back to dealer, they said it should be easy to remedy.
Interesting that it's not just mine. Also the navigation card reader is faulty, anyone else having that prob I haven't looked further into this forum on that.
