Greetings. I was out this past weekend offroading with a friend and his Toyota 4Runner and we ended up using a snatch strap to unstick an old GMC Blazer from a mudhole. Took about 4 hard pulls. The 4Runner was of course in 4 Low. So I got to thinking "What terrain response system setting would I use on the DS if I'm the pulling vehicle?" Mud/Ruts? Rock Climb?

Probably just whatever setting works best for driving on that surface, especially if just using a single 9m strap. Snatch recovery is more about momentum than dragging. Your vehicle has to get up to enough speed to bump the bogged vehicle out. You may wish to hold a lower gear, though, so that the revs stay reasonably high as the load kicks in.
