As anyone familiar with the beaches of Long Island New York they know the sand is a very fine sand and difficult for certain vehicles.
I have had very good success in the past with my 4Runners but now that I have switched to the 2016 DS I am a bit concerned. Today was my first trip on the sand and I aired down to 24lbs from the 38lbs I was not that pleased with the results. Must I air down even more? Can I get some advice so that I can have
confidence with my DS because I plan on spending a lot of time on the sand.

Sand is always tricky. Many air down their vehicles to even lower. But also remember not to turn too sharp or dig in (i make as many straight runs as possible). Also keeping a steady gas peddle like when wading in water. Our stock tires are not the best for sand.

I had issues with my F250 and then again with my raised Jeep wrangler. I always made it out but sand is always a tricky terrain especially when it is so dry and deep.

These stock tires are pretty bad for anything off road. Plus, There's an art to driving in sand. I'm still not that familiar with the Discos terrain response but I've had it in sand and mud/rut modes before and it did way better than I expected. However there is a driving coach graph that comes on in the center info screen. It's got two bars with sliding arrows. I'm not exactly sure what it means but I'm just guessing that you are supposed to try to keep those arrows close to each other for optimum traction??
Anyone who's been to the LR experience care to elaborate?
