I think others have reported this. Not sure of a solution. Maybe when the next maps updates comes out? There may be a software fix for it, but I don't know for sure. Most others reported that they never had town names. I'm not sure I've ever looked all that closely. Where would the town names have shown up? When you zoom out really far so that you could see them?The names of towns have disappeared from the map on my navigation display. The names of individual streets and rivers are still there - but no towns! The navi system works great in all other respects. The dealer hasn't been able to provide a solution.
