I just got my 2016 LRD HSE Sport Lux and notice that the audio system does not come with a CD input....WTF... I'm old school but sometime I do like to listen to old audio cd.

I was looking at the 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport Dynamic Edition and it does have a CD input...

Hahaha! I know how you feel. When I was building my DS, the CD package was not even available as an add-on. You would think the "Audio Upgrade Package" has the CD player but it doesn't! (Even if it does include the CD player, for that price, I think that's just wrong.)

At first I missed the CD player but since I'm able to stream music from the USB thumb drive, it's all good.

I was surprised when I posted questions here around the CDP and many answered that they don't have it....
When I was shopping for a DS (here in NJ, USA)....every model I saw of HSE (with and w/o Meridian option) had CDP
I ended up buying HSE with Meridian system and I do have a CDP....HOWEVER...I don't think I will be using it much as it doesn't play CDR with mp3 files....
My Audi had no problems with those....so I will just transfer over to a USB drive and use that....

This is the one feature that I'm disappointed with. I'm with you. I'm old school, I like just using my CDs vs relying on my phone. I bought a '16 HSE this week, and I compromised on not having this feature when some other vehicles I was looking at have it but I liked the DS so much more overall than the other competitors. Wish I could add it after market like you used to be able to

The first generation DS 2015-2016 in the US did not come with CDP.
Only European ones did.

I don't miss it - I dumped all my music on a USB stick and stuck it in arm rest compartment.

Love the Meridian sound - so much better than my BMW HK system!

Has anyone managed to find an after-market cd player for the Discovery Sport 2017? Im in Aus, and my husband continues to drive our old car because of the cd player! It's going to end up my car otherwise (which I don't mind) but really this car should have a cd player!

The car could have been ordered with a cd player but like most of us you did not. I use a SB stick with close to a full 64 stick .


Still trying to find a 8 Track player.
