I should be ordering a Discovery Sport HSE this weekend and I hope to find my match so I would be in it as soon as possible. Absolutely drawn to this vehicle would probably purchase it without driving it do to not wanting to let it go from first site..Any heads up on the purchase would be appreciated. Just randomly chose a dealer in Conn because of the few positive feedbacks. Should I expected to get the car under the Manufactures price?

Look forward to exchanging on this forum..............Joe

Look at truecar.com for your area to see what people are paying. When I bought mine this past summer off the dealer's lot I did not get much of a discount and neither were many others according to truecar.com.
Good choice on the trim level.
The HSE is a perfect place to start.

For options, make sure you get them installed as most options are not retrofittable after the fact.

If 3 row seating is important - that's a major option that can't be added on later.
Adaptive Xenon lighting is a nice feature if you are a rural or mountain road driver at night.
Climate comfort seating is something I wanted because of the heat in the desert southwest where I live.

As for discounted pricing, if you have other dealers nearby, you have a better chance at a discount. Shop them before the end of the year when dealers are trying to get their end of month volume sales......

Use your email to make contact, get quotes on similar priced cars, then put dealers against each other and see who comes out on top.
My area, we have quite a few dealers within 30 minutes and had them all compete - 1 came out the best.

Now I am curious as to what discounts are available in the US. I just took a look and the prices are about $5k higher in Canada than in the US, but our dollar in is the toilet.

Heard the dollar is getting so bad that if it keeps going down Canadians could be heading towards recession
Spent my day visiting a few dealers and corresponding by emails, but at the end of the day found a dealership that I knew it was the one. They had a great selection and I found my HSE which was pretty much loaded and it also had the enhanced audio which this forum give a big thumbs up. Also got the roof rack and cross members and a cover. One thing I was going to research is the IBEX protection and see if I should opt out on monday. I am a pretty good at detailing my vehicles and wondering if this protection will prevent me using my detailing method.
Look forward to showing my Discovery Sport and happy to be on board with you folks exchanging ideas.
The dealership in which I found my DS is in Darien Ct. Thank You for your responses thus far. Tues is pick up day...
Good choice on the upgraded audio and roof rack - I use mine all the time!

Pictures when you pick up please.
First 2 hundred miles

Well I love my new car even though the engine light went on after 50 miles. The ride is tight and comfortable and it has the diversity I did not think existed in its price range.
Now to take one day at a time to learn its functions especially the intouch commands, voice commands and navigation. I am spending time initially watching youtube for an overall understanding.
One of the first things I would like to figure out is how to close the gaps when I lower the rear seats so my dog does not slip through, possibly styrofoam covered with material. Some photos..

Congrats on the new DS!

Love that K stone color with the black pack - my co-worker has the same exact paint scheme as yours.

I liked the video series LR offers on all their cars - beats the manual. But beware the youtube videos on the DS- some are options that optional.

Just note what options you have on yours and you won't be shown a video that does not apply.

As for a dog restraint, consider getting a harness that ties into your safety belt so that they are safe in the event of a crash.
You don't want to have the dog loose during a collision.
I saw way too many dogs getting killed because the owner thought it was cute to have them running around in the car.
The most poignant scene I remember was a crash where the dog was crushed between the airbag and driver just because they thought it was cute to have the dog in the driver's lap.
