New Land Rover Discovery Spotted Again

We’ve previously seen the new Land Rover Discovery testing mule in the snow last month, well the mule is out and about again in the snow and CarScoops has the latest images on their site.

This larger brother to the Discovery Sport seems to have retained that rear roof spoiler if the part jutting out the back is anything to go by. It also doesn’t seem to be a random mule wing for the purpose of misleading people because the shark antenna is so close to where that spoiler starts, similar to the Discovery Sport.

Also noticeable are is the body’s lines, a bit more rounded than its predecessor the LR4. What we could be seeing in terms of shape is something similar to the Discovery Vision concept that was revealed around two years ago. Hopefully Land Rover learned from the LR4’s mistake and lowered the body a bit so that the production model will fit the urban underground parking’s height requirement. Sure its predecessor had the option to lower its suspension but sometimes people can forget and accidents do happen.

As for the interior, we could be seeing a seven passenger seating option that will comfortably fit everyone and trimmed with the same quality materials as the LR4, Windsor leather, wood steering wheel, etc.

Does anybody know if the new disco shares a platform with the RR Sport, sort of like the Evoque and DS? I am assuming that would be the case, but I haven't seen anything confirming it
It shares a platform with the Evoque. I think RR Sport is too big for this.
This is the new LR5 that will replace out the LR4 so it's still the Discovery but without the "Sport" name like ours....

I have been waiting to see if the diesel engine will be an option here in the USA as my diesel BMW is up for lease return in 6 months....

Our DS share an elongated Evoque platform. There will be a smaller Discover that should be on the very same platform at Evoque. I think the "big" Disco, pictured, is somewhere along the lines of a RRS platform but with more room. It may be its own platform though. We'll learn more soon.
Are they taking orders yet? I may be pushing 50k miles on my DS by the time these things come out "late 2016"? Hmmmm... Whaddya think DoubleD, sallypat?

Well LRDS...If you want something bigger, then go for it. :) It's gonna be a pretty nice rig. Not Range Rover posh but still very nice. Should also be capable, not LR4 capable but still very capable. Should have some neat Tech too.

We are hanging on to our DS for the long haul. The size of the DS just fits our needs and wants.

I'm still on the fence over getting rid of my truck and buying a used LR4....I was drooling over some LR4s when we picked up our DS last Friday.....But I keep coming back to the fact that I really do need a truck.
However, about the time I'll be ready, LR is coming out with their new Defender in 3 wheelbase options with various body configurations. They are also going to Include a 4 door truck which could solve my dilemma BUT there's two probs...#1 I'm not sure what engine they will have yet. I have to have something with a little power. #2 Word on the street is that for some silly reason, the 4 door truck won't make it to the US. But that's still conjecture.:nerd:
