I am very sad to finally have to put my quirky and temperamental 2000 LR Disco2 out to pasture this week. We had an excellent run. She took me through thick and thin and was almost always game for an adventure. The D2 was mainly just my weekend beater, regulated to Home Depot runs and taking my dog hiking. Recently the rust situation has gotten so bad that when I left the D2 parked in the driveway for a few days, I would come back to find pieces of rust under the truck. The under-body rust has made even the simplest of jobs, such as brake pad changes, quite the challenge, as bolts would strip by just looking at them and one of my brake calipers is completely frozen.
On Saturday, I picked up a 2016 Discovery Sport HSE Lux, Corris Grey, Black Package with Tan interior. I really love the ride and styling of the DS. I hope it serves me as well as my last Discovery has.......Although hopefully this Discovery has less of the LR electronic gremlins though. Unfortunately, I was plagued with the "Three Amigos" on more occasions than I would like to remember, among other well known LR quirks.
Sorry for the crappy phone pics.
