Need Help Tow Hitch for 17' HSE 5+2

Hi,

Straight to the point. I have a 2017 Disco Sport HSE with the 5+2 seating in the back. This puts the spare tire under the rear of the vehicle.

I Talked to my dealership who referred me to a 3rd party installation center in San Francisco called Rack Solid who said they had a hitch for that model and there were no specifications against the 5+2. Took it in and they just called saying that it doesn't work for the 5+2 because of that model and the company providing the part hadn't updated their site to reflect this.

My question is, has anyone else been able to install a hitch on a similar vehicle with the 5+2 seating with the spare tire underneath?

If so, do you have a brand/model number of the part?

Any and all help welcome.
Thanks in advance

Taylor

I found the oem part I think you need for this in the accessory brochure: VPLCT0161. I installed the oem hitch for my 2016 five-seat model myself. Look up all my posts here for a walkthrough with pics. Also download the instructions for your oem receiver to see if you can tackle it. Oh! You’ll need the tow electrics kit too listed in the accessories brochure. Let us know how it goes!

Taylor I have the same problem. I went to truckin America and they tried to install the curt 2 inch hitch receiver but the problem is that although the curt hitches bolt holes do line up to the preexitsting bolt on points on the vehicles frame; the problem is that it is directly behind the large muffler boxes on both sides. That is why it will not work with the 5+2 seater. They suggested going to the muffler shop to re route the mufflers or even cut off the muffler boxes! I am very frustrated too bc although Land Rover do have the tow hitch for it; it’s close to $2000! I think the way around this problem without spending 2ks is to see if you can just buy the curt hitch receiver and take it to a welding shop to modify it to make it fit above the mufflers. The bolt on area of the hitch is just too wide and prevents the mufflers to be put back to its original position. Let me know if you find a solution
