Hello All,

I am a new 2016 Discovery Sport Owner. I have the HSE model.

I really like the new car, but am having an issue with the Navigation system. I've done some searching around here and on the web, but haven't run across anyone with the same issue so far.

Here's the issue:

My navigations system simply refuses to save any sort of Home address, Recent address, or Favourites. I've entered them multiple times, but the next time I start the car...poof...they're all gone.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks
Moses.

Yes, I have this issue but it's not all the time, I would say 50% of the time it doesn't remember what my home address is.

I just went in for the license lamp recall and at the same time they preformed an upgrade to the nav systemn "updated front head unit control module" Ooops whole car set to factory specs and all personal favourites in the nav lost.

Mechanic says it makes a big improvement.

Does the in control map updater also work with the Disco nav systems that are not "in control"? I am very confused by the way they use the "in control" title. Sometimes it looks like an option, but others it looks like a general description.

I would love to send destination addresses to my nav or create POIs.

My new discovery sport is 3 months old, NAV system would not store HOME, or any saved destination. I never knew one moment to the next when the NAV system would be functioning. Sometimes the data was there, more often than not it would not be. I have been dealing with this since buying the Sport model for tree months with the Princeton dealership who basically cannot do anything about the issue. They said they were waiting for a patch from the big boys in England. My vehicle was in service for a month with absolutely no progress. They now want me to bring back the loaner, and use the defective vehicle until a patch can be formulated. I am exhausted from dealing with this on a daily basis. I want my money back, my contract torn up, or a new model without any issues. Land Rover knew of NAV issues before I purchased in some of their Discovery Sport models, but I was not told anything! I have filed in Lemon stays in NJ and am awaiting a date for a court hearing. I would not buy from Land Rover again-- their business decisions are obviously to make me wait for an unknown amount of time, while paying for a new vehicle is stupid and cheap!

Did LR customer service escalate the issue and have a LR tech review the vehicle? Did you try another dealership to see if they have a solution? I am lucky that I have not had those issues with my navigation, so they have at least one out there that works.

Good luck. Sorry you have been so disappointed.

Not sure why the upgrade is not available in Princeton ?? ( assuming not the Princeton in B.C. ) but I have just had an upgrade to the control unit. More steps in saving a POI than my garmin and it works almost the reverse from the garmin, but when giving directions it works fine especially with the auto zoom and the directions that show up on the drivers display.

I provided the map updater URL for those who may have older versions of the map. Unfortunately, there are those who have had the map since 2015 and are still unable to update. I've only had my DS for only 3mos. now and had the latest update at the dealership so since there was no new update for me (ie; "Free Updates" is grayed out and un-clickable; refer to screenshot below), I thought this would be normal. Not sure what it takes for old maps to get updated. If this utility is unsuccessful, perhaps the only means to update is via the dealership.

Your issues have been mine four four months with a new 2016 DS Land Rover. The Princeton dealership in NJ, and technical specialists from JLRNA, and many Service people have looked at the issue. They said that a "patch " was being made, that they were aware of the problems, but seemingly they do not care and cannot solve the issue. Multiple other issues are floating around these vehicles-- loose SD cards, radio issues, and other types of NAV issues-- totally regret getting involved with this vehicle type-- will not do it again. I escalated directly to JLRNA, and they got back to me basically saying--- to bad-- we are not buying your vehicle back-- deal with it!

I have now gone to a lawyer to get resolution, under "breach of warranty"-- free and easy-- no cost---all I wanted was a new vehicle that "completely" works-- like I paid for-- too much to ask! Good luck with your efforts!
