Multiple CANBUS errors - any suggestions?

Hi All,

My Sisters 2019 Discovery Sport came up with multiple failures on the dashboard, the dashboard display would also blank out, along with the gear selector knob, the car although running would not rev up (only idle).

On reading the codes I got the faults listed below. I disconnected the battery for a few mins and reconnected, but this had no effect. I then cleared all the fault codes and the car appeared to return to normal for a short while (re-read codes and none were reported) and was able to drive it home, but the issues came back after a couple of restarts. Are there any known issues with bad grounds etc affecting the CANBUS on these models? Are there any wiring diagrams I can refer to to identify the location of the modules reporting faults?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I had what you called Gerlach. The dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. The car would run, but only idle couldn’t move the knob. It happened prior to the vehicle going out of warranty at that time. They couldn’t find anything or duplicate the issue then after it was out of warranty, the gear lock situation happened again. I took it in in September 2024 and again in October 2024 my car set at Cerritos, California LandRover until February 2025 at that time under good faith. They gave me a new transmission and cooling system. Those were both issues that had been addressed prior to the car going out of warranty I have now gone to them for a buyback due to the issues the vehicle has less than 30,000 miles on it.

This sounds like the problem I have had with my 2019 discovery sport. Fortunately for me that happened while the car was under warranty at that time they couldn’t find anything, but I made sure that they logged it in my profile and within months of my car going out of warranty this happened again. This time LandRover kept my vehicle for 101 days this was Cerritos California so they’re aware of the lemon law but yet I was not awarded a buyback. They did replace my cooling system and my transmission at no charge but the gear lock situation is an ongoing problem with that particular year
