13349 Views 29 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  Roverish
Anyone have issues with exterior lower door panels pooping off on 2016 discovery sport ? Any ideas where to buy one other than dealership. Have looked online at length but haven’t had any luck.
Thanks is in advance

Has anyone investigated a more robust replacement option? I've now taken the 2 front wheel arch plastics off too on the beach (crossing a creek). Flared wheel arches that are bolted on or something? Might work with 265/60/18 AT tyres I'm putting on. Thoughts?

I looked around, but didn’t see anything available anywhere. I was going to do exactly that, replace it all with a more robust system, or maybe some rock sliders if they were available, but I didn’t see anything offered except those “magnetic armor plates” (aka magnetic signs like businesses use).

After repairing my driver side lower mounding, it hasn’t come off or loosened at all. Haven’t taken it through any deep sand, just about 10-20 miles of mild-medium ruts and a few water crossings (about knee-deep).

I have noticed that every few months (especially after a lot of miles on rocky/rough roads), I need to go around and tighten up many of the screws that hold a lot of the plastic trim pieces on, such as:
  • plastic at the bottom of the windshield/bottom of the A-pillars
  • all plastic covers on the underside of the vehicle

Nothing has actually fallen off just from driving around, though. (Knock on wood)

A little silicon (bath tub not spray) on the screws will stop them vibrating out.

Never thought of that. Perfect!

Yes both of mine have fallen off and i keep pressing them back on. Today somehow it has been lost. Pissed that LR doesn't own up to this very common occurrence.
A quick up date on the situation. I went through all the offical documents about the trim piece from JLR and found that the clips are non-reusable. I have attached the appropriate document to this message.

This means to fix the issue, we all need to completely remove the panel and replace all 12 clips.
Where do I get these clips? Thank you. Johnna

Do not leave personal information in a post.
Clips are available at the dealer.

Have you lost it? Then go to a dealer or a wrecking yard. If it just pooped get new clips from dealer.
lr parts on line cheeper than dealer ship
Have a used model where it seems this has been an issue in the past. When replacing the trim, does the lower part hook behind the lip of the door or rest on top?
