Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is on a roll for the fourth consecutive month this year! Their 2016 global sales have been breaking records every month and around 21% of units sold came from the Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Last month, JLR sold 41,341 vehicles which is an 11% increase compared to the same time last year. Overall, they’ve sold 200,154 vehicles this year and it’s only May! Compared to the same period of time last year, JLR saw a 24% increase and 21% of that came from the Discovery Sport. That’s quite a feat if you take into account the number of models in the lineup.
The Discovery Sport’s global popularity is even more amazing if you look at the Land Rover sales only. In the first four months this year, Land rover managed to sell 162,307 vehicles, 19% up on the prior year and 27% of those vehicles sold are Discovery Sports.
Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover group sales operations director, said that they’re “seeing the progressive impact of the all-new Discovery Sport, with approaching 44,000 cars sold in the first four months of this year.“
We can probably expect May to be another record breaking month for JLR and even more Discovery Sports will be making their way into the hands of buyers.
