A new report by Glass shows us that the Land Rover Discovery Sport is the most desired used vehicle in the UK for the month of July '15. The relatively new vehicle has a fairly low used volume that can't fulfil the strong demand that Britons have for the vehicle.

It is interesting that the Discovery Sport has topped the list of most desired used vehicles, since the other 4 vehicle on the list are all more budget oriented options. Here is the list of the "Hot Five" for July which lists the most wanted used cars in the country:

1. Land Rover Discovery Sport
2. Dacia Sandero
3. Chevrolet Captiva
4. Chevrolet Orlando
5 Dacia Duster

A used Discovery Sport stays on the lot for an average of 14.6 days before being sold. The low mileage and age of the units being sold indicate that most are ex-demonstrators and ex-manufacturer staff cars.

There is one slight downside to getting a Discovery Sport on the used market right now though. Those vehicles will come with the Freelander's old 2.2-litre diesel engine. People will be missing out on the upcoming Ingenium equipped Discovery Sport. Furthermore, if you can wait until those Ingenium equipped models come out, it will likely drive the price of the 2.2-litre diesel equipped used models down.

Did any of you guys get your Discovery Sport used? Was it tough finding one at a dealership?

of course it's most wanted...people can't even get a new one if they wanted to. the DS owners, we've all played the waiting game
Well, actually, I bought mine right off the lot. ;-). The dealer had two. I also checked nearby cities. There weren't a lot, but there were some to bad had. Of course, they might not be the color or features one wanted, but I lucked out because the dealer had an HSE Lux in the right color and with the right features (which is one reason I jumped on it rather than ordering one).

where are you about? actually me too. I bought the launch edition the day after my local dealer received 2 of them. my original choice of color was corris grey but I just couldn't wait any longer. it was in April and at the time all surrounding dealers in Los Angeles CA were telling me the DS were coming in 2 at a time every other month. because the demand was so high compare to supply, other dealers were selling them 5k over sticker. luckily I only paid full sticker price. never thought I would consider paying full price on a car as lucky LOL

I got mine in Charlotte NC. Salesman told me some dealers were selling over MSRP, but they didn't do that. I actually got a little bit off MSRP because someone had driven mine 100 miles or so. Also, because the dealer didn't know everything about the car, and he said that one thing was on it that wasn't (the Incontrol Remote), I got an $200 accessory for "free". They still had the other one about a month after I bought mine, so no one was clamoring for it (I don't think it was a LUX and I believe it was silver). Mine is Corris Grey with the black accents like yours. My wife has a white Q7 so I couldn't have gotten a white one, anyway! And I can't believe I paid full price either, especially on the first release (they say never buy the first year of a car, but mine has worked out so far; looks like those getting 2016s are getting that big cut-out in the back, which I'm glad I didn't get).

yes, can't believe I paid full price and bought a first year model. double no to most people haha. Corris grey is the best color. you've done well. been hearing some information about the differences on the 2016 model, only thing makes me jealous is the Incontrol remote. there will be more features offered on the 2016 model than the 2015.

I just saw this listing for a used HSE Lux for $78k!!! $78k?? When a new one is only $53k or so? Who would pay $78k for a used one? I think the warranty for a certified used might be better than new. It looks like it's 6 years or 100k miles. Isn't the new one just 4 years? Anyway, here's the link: 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE LUX, $78,988 - Cars.com. There are other used ones for sale already as well. I guess people are dumping their DS's already. Who would buy a used one, though, if someone had trouble with it new?
