Does anyone have any info in regards to Land Rover doing an update to the Infotainment System that would include Apple CarPlay? I also have a 2017 Mazda CX-5 and there is talk of Mazda doing an update to their system that would include Apple CarPlay.

FCA is adding Car Play too... but I haven't heard anything about LR doing it.

MY18 manuals are available online, there is nothing about Apple Play. The only difference I can see so far is 4g support and Wifi connectivity to external access points (?!?) , most likely for map updates and such
