iPhone Bluetooth streaming and media source changes

Hi, I have a Discovery Sport HSE 2015. Whenever I use Bluetooth to stream from the iPhone Music app and then change to another steaming app such as Youtube, SoundCloud, TuneIn or others, the Car Entertainment switches media source back to radio (AM/FM).

Even when using SoundCloud or Youtube then switching back to the iPhone Music app, the Car Entertainment changes media source back to radio (AM/FM).

In summary, every time i switch streaming apps, i have to re-select Bluetooh in Media Source.

I'm on iPhone 6s and iOS 9.3.2

have the same issue... i don't know if there's a fix :/
I tested the same scenario with Android and I don't have the issue. Seems iOS disconnects bluetooth for a fraction of a second when changing audio from one app to another.
This is why I use the wire for playing music on my iPhone. YOu can switch to various apps without it changing the media source. I reserve BT for making calls only.

Hi @DiscoDisco,
Can I use both methods at the same time? I thought using the wire would disconnect or hide Bluetooh from the media source?

Not sure I'm following you? I use the wire and select iPod in media source. The BT stays connected for phone calls.
I can go from iTunes, to Amazon Music, to IHeartradio to Pandora, etc...without it every disconnecting from the iPod source.
Thanks for this... it does seem counterintuitive though to connect the device twice.

Because this doesn't happen with Android, (ie changing streaming apps doesn't change Audio Source), this means that the root of the problem is two folds:
1- iOS disconnects Bluetooth for a fraction of a second when changing streaming app (must be a big in the iOS audio mixer internals)
2- Discovery Sport's entertainment has a very sensitive bluetooth system that would drop Bluetooth from its list of sources during this iOS disconnection.

Both issues sound like software bugs and could be fixed if there is momentum and this was reported to Apple and Land Rover.
