On LR Website the SE comes standard with InControl Remote. So I assume the HSE does to?

Salesguy showed us the SOS and maintenance Incontrol switches by the sunglass holder, but didn't mention anything about Remote. I tried to download the application and sign up but it told me "this VIN has already been registered."

I've got an email out to our SA - but am curious.

Oh, and the garage homelink: We just moved into a new house with this Genie intellicode garage opener. I've spent about 2 hours trying to get my Audi to talk to it.... and I gave it a few tries with the Disco. To no avail. I think once we clear out all the moving boxes, I need to get the car inside the garage and extra close to the opener to program it.

The SA was a little rushed I think, we literally filled the paperwork out at closing time. Maybe if we'd been buying a $90000 RR he would've been more thorough

The InControl remote requires the dealer activate the VIN # and then you register online using a computer.
Do NOT use a smartphone or tablet to register the app.

Once you have it registered and working on your computer, then you can download the app for your phone or tablet and then use the features on the app.

As for the HomeLink (remote garage door opener) feature in your DS, you have to be in the garage with the car. I have done this for so many years on my BMWs....

Make sure you have a ladder leading up to the garage door opener while you synchronize the DS HomeLink.
The rolling security codes make it so you have to repeat the programming multiple times.

Hmm, mine worked fine parked just outside the garage door. It was quicker on the DS than it was on my former Audi Q5. Took me forever to get the rolling codes to work on the Audi Q5. However, to be fair, it might have been operator error because it worked the first time I tried it on my wife's Audi Q7 (which we bought just before we got the DS), so maybe (obviously?) I was doing the wrong sequence when I tried it with the Q5. ;-)

If my memory serves me correctly, the setup requires several steps (ensure the DS is outside in open air):

1. Register/activate via the website (have VIN ready): https://incontrol.landrover.com/jlr-portal-owner-web/login
2. Confirm activation via email account.
3. Physically press the "InControl Remote - Breakdown Call" button. (NOT the "SOS Emergency" button.)
4. Once setup is successful, download the InControl Remote app:

iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id713993146
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.landrover.incontrolremote

NOTE: Process had to be timed right. It took us several tries or 15mins to get it right.
