I work in software development, and I am thinking that the DS -- which is basically software on wheels -- will probably sort out all the 1st generation issues soon and then become much more popular on the roads in the next couple of years.

The bugginesss and glitchiness is probably turning off alot of ppl right now. I am really curious to see how the sales of DS evolves over time. If LR can figure it out, we could potentially see much more DSs on the road since it seems like small premium crossover SUVs are all the rage nowadays.

Design, cargo room . . some of the fundamental attributes are all super attractive. The negatives are all transmission and software related which can be resolved over time.

Curious if others might agree . . .

Agreed. I think LR also needs to work on the fit and finish. The occurrences of rattles/squeaks are just too high, and some of the interior parts were just assembled without care. I have never driven a car that has so many noises like my DS.

Agreed on all points... Though I've yet to experience any of this glitchiness/bugginess...

Have thought the same thing numerous times. The Evoque has been around long enough to use as a good base for maybe what to expect with the DS down the road. I have not taken the time to visit Evoque forums or research reliability, fit/finish issues over time. Would be interesting to see if there were similar issues and whether they have been minimized over the years.

I was given different Evoque five times as loaner cars, and trust me on this, the fit and finish on the Evoque are far superior than the DS. I know both are from the same factory, but it feels like the assembly lines and QA teams are from two different planets.

I drove Evoques and actually thought the opposite.
