Hi, Im Jorge from Brooklyn. I ordered a disco sport hse to be delivered on July 17. Is anybody having issues with the transmision the way some articles are describing it?

Congrats Jorge. My wife and I picked up our Discovery Sport HSE Lux about 3 weeks ago from Prestige in Jersey. The transmission and engine are fine for us. Yes, there's a bit of turbo lag and you need to get used to smooth acceleration but it's not an issue for us.
The transmission works well. I don't find it hunting excessively for the right gear. Many reviewers question the 9 speed and don't seem to take into consideration the advanced terrain response system that makes the truck capable off road.
When I need to merge onto 95 or fast moving traffic, I move the selector to sport mode.
My only issue is the seats seem overly firm over a long drive. Other than that, it's a great truck.

Hi, Thank you. My HSE will be Corris Grey, 20inch five split spoke, climate, driver asst. Incontrol & Protect. (I wanted the vision assist but they are not avl till September). I was starting to get concerned with all the reviews about the transmission, but I rather hear reviews straight from buyers. Thank you all for the postings and Let’s see more photos!

We have had our HSE Launch Edition for 4 weeks and I have also seen the reviews that mention turbo lag and the transmission hunting for the right gear. If I really look for it I think I can detect a bit of lag but in day to day driving, including some very crooked and steep roads it is not noticeable and do not experience it trying to find the right gear, much better than my Nissan Xterra (which is my real off road vehicle).
Perhaps if I were a more sophisticated driver I would notice but simply have not experienced either of those two issues.

I too never noticed it until I read the reviews about the turbo lag. it is when I step on the gas relatively aggressive, the car seems to jump from a low gear to a high gear without a smooth transition. but I kind of like it especially entering the highway with that extra push.
