Welcome to the discussion! Sounds like a nice garage full of cars you have had for a while. The DS will make a nice new addition.

That's what I have been noticing a lot of in these, families of 3 and even 4 which just goes to show how many see the soundness in the ideal of this as a family vehicle.Congrats! Youll like this ride. With the smallish overall size, while still having all the room inside, its a great family car. We dont have the 3rd row (family of 3) but weve had 4 adults and 1 child loaded up in our Disco several times and its very accommodating.
Its not the fastest SUV in the world, but its not the slowest either and its fun to drive. Plus weve been getting very good fuel economy.
I hope it works out well for you guys.
No long road trips yet. We have had it loaded down with cargo for a few short trips to see family. It works almost as well as our past, much larger, SUVS. We have a couple of long trips planned before summer is over though. With our experience so far, I cant imagine it being anything short of great. That's what I have been noticing a lot of in these, families of 3 and even 4 which just goes to show how many see the soundness in the ideal of this as a family vehicle.
Have you guys done a road trip in it yet? That, I think would be the ultimate test for a family.
Hi guys, great website with some good info so far. Been lurking and posting some already.
I just ordered my custom 2016 DS HSE today:
Loire blue with 19 inch black design w/ almond interior
Climate
3rd row
Audio upgrade
Driver's assist
Adaptive xenons
Should be coming in October. Very excited.
My current car is a leased 2013 GLK350 with minimal added features. My wife drives a loaded BMW X3 (28i). I like MB and BMW a lot, but this car makes the most sense for me and our growing family right now.
Me too - I am a BMW fan and have been for over 15 years. Thanks for the comments guys. I was 95% sure that my next car would be a BMW, but one test drive of the DS totally changed my mind and another reaffirmed my decision.
You're affirming my initial impressions and test drives of the vehicle. The style and especially that black design pack look so good. But I was really impressed with the drive and handling, even going in knowing about all the negative press regarding the turbo lag (which isn't that bad at all).
Our x3 feels light on it's feet and the GLK feels very solid. The DS is a nice balance of the two.
Agreed, you get most options MB/BMW offer in a more practical package (interior space wise) and a slightly lower price point.Me too - I am a BMW fan and have been for over 15 years.
Now the new BMWs are very soft and disconnected (non M), and I have been turned off with the brand. Guess BMW is appealing to newcomers and those that want a soft, cushy, living room feeling car these days ?
I test drove other brands: Audi Q5 & SQ5, Mercedes MLE300, BMW X4, and Porsche Macan & Cayenne.
After 2 months of test drives: Land Rover DS came out on top - for the money you get a lot!
The ride has been super solid, grippy road feel, and a well mannered pothole management drive....
Can't wait to this up to the mountains for snow traction test....![]()
