May is a bet of a wait but I'm sure it will be worth it. Are you concerned at all about quality with a first model year vehicle? Pretty sure no one has got delivery of the Disco Sport yet. Maybe you'll be the first one on the forum.

about the quality of the first jear: i really didn't think about it much.
i assume that a car in this price range is good quality and tested tourough.
the engine and drivetrain is the same as on the evoque and freelander.

I was actualy looking for a good deal on the freelander2 in replacement of my 2003 jeep cherokee. But there were only very well equipped stock cars available, so higher price range dispite discount.

i thought about an evoque too, but this drives more like a sportscar, which i did not like

the dealer had just receved a disco sport and i coud make a test drive, liked a lot, and with the Brussels car-show now, he made me an intersting offer, so i ordered on the spot.

I'd like some more technical information, i'm a bit of a gearhead ;-), and the salesmen are not technical at all.
so any information, especialy on the drivetrain is welcome.

Good point, these vehicles are tested a lot in all kinds of conditions. It's just that sometimes some new vehicles turn out being a disaster but for the most part they're fine. I don't think Land Rover had any major issues with it's new vehicles anyways, so you should be in the clear.
Just make sure you do your part to stay on top of recalls and such.

Jaguar and Land Rover reliability leaves UK bottom of the table - Birmingham Mail

Jaguar and Land Rover cars have been blamed for UK motors coming bottom of a world reliability table... The Warranty Direct company, which compiled the list, said that UK brands had been placed bottom of the eight-nation table "thanks to low reliability scores from both Jaguar and Land Rover".
