Has the response and acceleration gotten better for you over time?

I've been enlightened about adaptive transmissions, and how the car will optimize shift points based on your driving style. So I gotta ask: have all of you felt that the car is responding better to you over time? I think it has for me, but not sure if it's enough of a difference that I would've noticed if someone never mentioned adaptive transmission in the first place . . .

I hav noticed a difference. It's responding much better than the first few months we had the vehicle. We've got almost 10k miles on it now.
It's still got some inherent turbo lag but it's seems to find lower gears better/quicker and throttle response seems better as well.
Yes, I have as well, the adaptive transmission learns how you drive in either Sport or Drive mode.
I do enjoy how the 9 speed tranny shifts up/down very seamlessly.

However I find that switching gears back from drive to reverse takes awhile after driving in Sport mode with high revs.
The delay to shift into reverse is a bit annoying but I guess the 9 speed tranny does take awhile to switch gears.....
Hi!!

I am new to this forum, I have been reading it for a while and learnt a lot from all of you, so first of all thank you very much!!

I never heard about that adaptative transmission... Can you explain it a little bit more or leave a link with the info please? Also, Is it standard in all trims?

Thx!
Hi!

I have 2,800 miles on mine and I have already felt the difference. LR advises not to change the way you drive for the car but let the car adapt to your driving style.

I think it's just a standard "feature" of the car. I don't think it's a selling feature that they have any specific info on. It's rather more of a practical function of the computer for transmission response and shift patterns along with fuel mapping, etc. I think it's a common "feature" with many vehicles these days. I've heard many times that the computers "learn" your driving style.

In the DS, NINE speeds it's a LOT to manage, especially with a turboed engine with prodigious amounts of power, and it certainly can not be managed with a canned, one size fits all, shift program and FI map. So adaptive shift and fuel management mapping makes sense.

I bet if someone digs into it they could drag up some info.
