The news the last few days has talked about the increase in a barrel of oil and how fuel prices will be rising. So I thought I better fill up the tank with gas to beat the next increase. As I filled I watched the number of liters spin but the cost was changing so fast it was hard to keep up.

Premium fuel cost me $2.079 CDN a liter. Ahhh!

I was pleased that my local Shell station had raised the octane from 91 to 93 , then I noticed that the old 91 was ethanol free but the 93 now contained up to 10% ethanol.. So the price shot up and now I paid for a filler as well.

Lucky my Chevron Station still has 94 octane pure. For now anyway.

Time to buy a scooter????? LOL

I don't believe there is a station in NoVA selling non-ethanol gas.

None here in Vegas either. 91 octane with 10% ethanol is the best you can find. Better than Utah at least.

I was in Havre Montana a few years back with another car. Had to fill up and there was 85 octane gas at the pump, filled up with the highest octane they had. I got the worst fuel economy on a 5000 km plus trip on that fuel up. Car ran terrible so I always wondered what they sold me. Ha Ha was glad to see North Dakota.

Latest fill up was $2.32 a litre cdn. Or just short of $7.00 U.S. That is for 94 octane ethanol free so we do have cheaper fuel.

Regular 87 octane was $2.059 a litre or around $6.00 U.S.
