That sucks... I bought my first new car in 1993 and drove it off the lot and to the DMV. I parked in the back row of the lot where there wasn't a car for at least 100 feet in any direction and got a door ding from a couple of punks that parked right next to in because they thought it was a cool car. people are dumb...

Sorry to hear your new ride is banged up a bit. I'm sure it will look beautiful again.

thats absolutely brutal. At least you're not at fault. Any pics of the damage?

All covered by insurance....had to wait 6 weeks for bumper but was driveable during the wait

A year or so ago, we were in my Audi Q5 (predecessor to DS) and someone who was in the right turn lane decided he needed to straight and side swiped my Audi. At first, he stopped, but then he took off. My wife said we need to get his license plate. So, I took off after him. We got his license plate, but we kept following him. Probably not a good idea, but we were in the heat of the moment. He pulled into an area that he didn't know well and tried to get away by turning into a dumpster enclosure! He almost hit us again when he backed out. We finally cornered him in a parking deck. I stayed in the car until he got out and I could see that his hands were empty (because if he had a weapon, I was probably going to have to run him over). The cops finally came & we exchange insurance info, or so I thought. Turns out he didn't have insurance, and that's probably why he ran. Luckily, my carrier paid for the whole thing under uninsured motorists coverage. We asked the cop why he didn't arrest the guy for hit and run and the cop said that we caught him and he stopped. Next time, we're just going to call it in and let the cops catch the guy. The cop said they have license plate cameras all over the city so it wouldn't have taken long. At least then there would have been some justice.
