Ghost Fan

Yes, I have heard it on the rare occasion but not sure of location. When I tried to find it I was in an enclosed space so noise source was difficult to pinpoint. I drive the car hard, long distances and in a lot of heat but haven't figured out what the heck it might be... Cooling for fuel pump or rear diff pump?

Apparently a pump in my rear differential system starting going out about two and a half months ago (approx 17k miles). Maybe the fan running after shut off to cool things down was a precursor to my fault?

Let us know if you figure this one out.

The carbon canister and fuel tank pressure control hardware are back on that side. Opposite the filler?, you might say, yes, is true.
I didn't dig into the manual, but I'd have to figure on the leak detection pump cycling. The pump valve bleeds pressure when needed, and the dmtl pump pressurizes the tank under certain conditions to test and determine that the tank is holding pressure and not bleeding vapor. When you leave your gas cap off or loose, this is the guy who figures it out and turn the light on.
