When I was searching for DS using the VIN Decoderz online, I noticed some DS listings showed that Flex Fuel (E85) was allowed.

Other listings showed Premium Unleaded as the fuel.

Is that true - we can run E85 safely ?

My manual states that we can't.

Can we run E85 in our tanks or was that a fluke / error or was that for a different non US market ??

The DS owner's manual says:
"This vehicle is not suitable for fuels containing more than 10% ethanol. Do not use E85 fuels (85% ethanol content), as serious engine and fuel system damage will occur."

In California, most gasoline is 10% of Ethanol (E10) due to the clean air act law. I did ask the LR technician this question during my previous visit, and he says E10 is okay and no more than that.

I think this is one of the reasons that using E10 has a bit less MPG than the pure 100% gasoline:

The DS has an EPA estimated mixed 22 MPG, but my best average is only 20 MPG.
