Discovery Sport Cranks and won’t start

Hi my discovery sport (2017 L550) went into limp mode I drove it home about a quarter mile and ever since it will crank but no start.

I’ve checked the air filter, I’ve tried easy start. I’ve replaced the fuel filter, I have fully charged the battery and tried boosting it from another truck. I am getting zero error codes. Initially there was a pending code P0341B for the crankshaft sensor but that has disappeared.

my wife usually drives it and said it had seemed to be running a little noisy before it dropped into limp mode.

Anybody any advice? Or had similar? I’ve had a mechanic here and they can’t seem to identify the issue. Thanks in advance.

If the camshaft sensor is defective the car will not start. Since the code was cleared it probably will not come up again until the car can start. I would check out the camshaft sensor as a first step.

hi Bill thanks for your prompt reply, I did miss that I have replaced the cam shaft sensor that lives under the fuel filter housingbut I haven’t done the crankshaft sensor yet as this appears more involved taking off the passenger wheel and some specialist tooling to realign. thanks Mark
Also, With a faulty sensor will that mean the car may crank but not start? Is there a way to test the sensor remotely?
