Just got my car last Friday. Waited for 4 months, was so excited. Loved it over the weekend. Very light driving, only highway so far.

Started today with a poor experience. Went to work, parked the car, didn't touch it for 9 hours. Came at 5.50pm to start it, wouldn't start.

Tried several times, each with its own outcomes.
- console would come on and immediately go off
- radio and land rover screen would boot but immediately turn off
- everything as is, park light will go off and come back on

I tried the white help/tow button but it didn't do anything. Assuming electronics won't work without a start?

After fumbling for 10 minutes I decided to go outside, lock the car and attempt to re-enter and restart.

Went out, locked all doors. Waited. Unlocked the driver door, sat in the seat. Put on seatbelt. Foot on brake, started on first try.

Obviously this shouldn't happen in any car, let alone a new car.

What am I doing wrong here guys?

Bummer

:(

Good luck with that, hope all better soon.

My car does weird stuff sometimes on boot up. Sometimes things just won't load like Bluetooth but I've had other systems not load as well, NAV, etc. If you don't get a clean boot obviously try try again (but the wait time is a pain).

My last car was a Jeep with very basic electronics. I'm not entirely comfortable with driving something that has to "boot up". My experience with Microsoft computers over the years does not give me great confidence in the reliability of this process...

Maybe the temps have something to do with the battery ?
The lower the temps, the harder the battery can deliver a starting current ?

Did they check both the main and secondary auxillary batteries ?

My 2016 Disco Sport has done this numerous times now but the dealer can replicate the problem. Has this happened again to you (or anyone?) they haven't replaced anything on mine and I'm getting extremely annoyed. They tell me I'm starting it wrong. As if I am unable to follow the two steps correctly. (Place foot on brake, press start button). It's happening more frequently and it's taking longer and longer for the car to "reset" and eventually start each time.
Any experience with this problem would be helpful.
Thanks in advance

I had a similar experience this morning. The car would not start. When I went back later about 2 hours all was OK. I have driven it since with no problems. Interestingly I have a warning to say SOS is not fully functional.

4 1/2 years later, I had the same experience with a new MY20 DS D240 HSE.

Upon initial delivery the auto tailgate would not operate (low battery) and the auto stop/start did not function (low battery).

2 days after receiving delivery of the new car it failed to start. Break down service was contacted and we took it for a 1,000km drive.

Seven visits to the service centre failed to identify or rectify the problem.

It's become progressively worse:
Low battery warnings;
Wing mirrors fail to extend;
360 camera system failures;
System default settings restored; and
Recently another break down (insufficient charge to start).

Mechanically the car is solid.

Electrically it's a train wreck!
