Good Morning,

I just purchased a 2016 Disco Sport HSE and am having bluetooth issues as well as a "Low Battery" warning. The dealership tested the battery and the readings are fine. After hours of scouring google and this page, I feel like I am close to resolving these issues, but just not quite there yet.

Bluetooth Issue:

I am connecting an iPhone 13 Pro Max. It pairs just fine, however, the bluetooth appears to just toggle on/off in the menu. I literally watch the box checkmark come and go.

Battery Issue:

The car starts just fine. The warning does not appear until AFTER I reach my destination and shut the car off. It then appears.

If anyone has any ways to resolve these issues, your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Try a different phone as first step.

Do an overnight charge with a smart charger next step. It is also possible that a wrong battery has been installed in the car by the dealer.

I think I've just succumbed to the fact that this Bluetooth Issue is between Land Rover and Apple. I tried a second, older iPhone and the same issues. I am just going to add Car Play and bypass the factory unit / bluetooth all together.

As for the battery, here's what's in there now. Where do I confirm that this is the correct battery?

That looks like the original factory battery and it is getting to the end of its life. Many have changed the battery at 4 years. You have a 2016 model so the battery may have been installed in 2015 my car went into service in December 2015 and it is a 2016 model . I place my battery on charge with a CTEK smart charger once a month in the winter and have only had the low battery warning 2 or 3 times.

You can read several threads about adding Car Play to the 2016 model , not cheap and not easy.

Curious does the phone connect with the car or just Bluetooth having problems.

The phone pairs with the car. And then all **** breaks loose. I cannot get any music ever to play. It's not even an option on my screen. I only see "iPod" when I USB in to the car. I also read some threads about updating the Nav SD Ram Card. If I'm not mistaken, you just did this too, correct? I went through the $120 USD update and it did nothing. So I wasted $120 that I could've put towards the $1,000 car play upgrade that would give me use to more current maps through Apple Maps. SMH.

Can you make phone calls with the car? Does the car update all your contacts from the phone? What do you mean when you usb the phone, have you tried a usb stick with mp3 songs?

navigation update updates the map software only, does the Navigation work?

Cannot make calls as the bluetooth simply just toggles between enabled / disabled literally every 10 - 30 seconds.

The Nav appears to work. I have yet to add a destination, but the mapping is all there just fine.

Trick I found works wonders for BT staying connected for music, go in to the BT menu on the DS and disconnect for phone. Leave connected for music.

Not much help if you are going to frequently use for calls, perhaps the inverse would solve that, but at the least if you wish to use it for media this should save your sanity. Something about being connected for both phone and music seem to cause it to spaz out.
