The other threads on the B Pillar have reached dead ends, so I thought I would throw up a hail mary and hope a good response is found.

I have had my DS in six times resulting in soft fixes, detailed body shop weld fix, spray foam in the pillar area, and finally a LR tech visit to my dealership. The sound from the B Pillar is still present in my left ear over bumps and then sometimes gets its rythem going in a constant manner on smooth roads.

The LR tech concluded that the sound is within acceptable limits.

Had anyone had this corrected to satisfaction? If so, do you know what fixed it?

I love everything else about this truck, but for the money spent on such a premium vehicle, I can't accept the sound as "acceptable".

Thanks for any help!

DrJJC - to be honest, as a former DS owner who was suffered from this B-pillar issue for months, I truly don't think JLR knows how to completely fix this issue. The evidence is that they keep updating the bulletin document with added fixes, and more model years and VIN ranges are now involved.

Since you have already talked to JLR without a resolution, I personally think your best option is to check your state law regarding lemon law protection.

I was one of the DS owners who "loved" DS just like you do, unfortunately piles of issues and frustrations ultimately prevented me from "loving" it.

Good luck!

B pillar or...

I have also had the annoying rattle/noise behind me in the door. I took it in for service again and took the tech for a drive. He agreed it seemed to come from the left pax door. This morning they called me to tell me it was the rear seat, and they needed a washer or spacer or something to repair it. It didn't sound like the back seat, but I have to let them try to fix it first.

My warranty is over at the end of the month, so I hope they can fix it.

I had this problem, but in the passenger side door pillar. They had trouble fixing it. I took it in twice, and they kept it for 3 weeks the second time. They eventually had to put more baffling material in the pillar to squelch the sound. ‘16 DS
