Hi newbie here, anyone know where the subwoofer is located? I have the audio upgrade package but can't find any documentations on where it's located. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks. I'll definitely check it out later tonight. It also seems like the U.S. model doesn't come with Meridian sound as the audio upgrade. :| I just found this out after delivery of vehicle.

In Canada, the sub is part of the upgraded system. Meridian is not available here...

Yes, Meridian system is not offered for North American market. However, my 2015 DS is probably one of the few US models that has the system. It took me a long time to track one down in my area.

Ok, so there's no subwoofer from the $800 audio upgrade package. I looked behind the second row seat and nothing. After scratching my head a bit...the 11th speaker is the center dash one, three on each of the front two doors, and two on each of the rear doors...which totals 11 speakers...

Anyone without the audio upgrade confirm if their care doesn't have the center dash speaker? Seems weird that one would be the additional, I've never been in a newer model car without a speaker in the center of the dash.

If there indeed isn't a subwoofer, than the system kicks out a lot of base without it.

Anyone with the audio upgrade on their DS 2016 want to chime in? The car sticker sheet states 11 speaks w/ subwoofer but I have yet to find it (Sub). The system does kick out a good amount of bass but as normal hearing levels but will distort if you turn up the volume a bit. Eventually I want to either replace the subwoofer or to use the inputs for an aftermarket setup (Sub + amp).

Weird. Was at the dealer today getting a wash and they had an SE on the floor. The window sticker had no added options except the climate package. Definitely had the center dash speaker. Unless it's just a grill with nothing under it?

Also weird is that the SE had all the other speakers. On the does that my car does. 11 total

Hello, new here. i just ordered the Discovery Sport HSE yesterday. Set to arrive early Sept. I have about one week to make changes to the order. However I did go for the audio upgrade as sound and music is super important.

What do you all think, is it worth the $800.

Yes, the upgrade is a very good deal.

Without putting a name to it (Meridian, Bose, HK), the sound output and clarity beats out the stock audio system.

Even when compared to my BMW HiFi system - the Disco system tops it!

The sub woofer is located in the cargo space (boot) and depending on whether your steering wheel in on the left had side or right will dictate where the sub is.
For example in my disco sport the Sub woofer is to the left hand side of the cargo space.

I have a 2017 disco sport hse lux but pretty sure there is no subwoofer.

The build out just says 11 speakers.

Funny that the 17 speakers system has ..... 14 speakers...

they consider the co-axial ones as 2 speakers since there is a mid bass and tweeter in the same cone. (labeled as 5)

I just posted this in another thread but just so you're aware, the 17 Speaker system isn't the same quality as the Evoques or Range Rovers. It's actually not that great...

Here's what I wrote:

Just found out that the Meridian 17 Speaker system in my new Discovery Sport HSE LUX isn't the same as the 17 Speaker system I had in my Evoque !!

I knew when I took delivery it sounded less loud and no where near the bass as my Evoque had. Fished around and a couple other dealers confirmed that the Evoque and Range Rover 17 Speaker Systems are more high-end, bigger amplifiers, better insulated which in turn gives it more bass as well. HUGE disappointment....

So if you're a music enthusiast like me, be forewarned about the 17 Speaker upgrade in the Discovery Sport Models......
