My dealer told me there's nothing different between the 2015 and 2016. I'm not sure I completely believe it. There may be features you can order on a 2016 that you can't on a 2015.So the MY has already changed to 2016?? I custom ordered an HSE mid-April and my dealer has informed me that they should receive it July 17 (TOPIx is showing the VIN as a 2015). But in a matter of weeks they will be delivering 2016s?? Hmmm....

I would find it hard to believe as well. What sounds troubling to me is that the DS 2015 has only been for sale in the US for what amounts to several weeks and there is now talk about 2016 MY being available in several additional weeks. Even if the available features are exactly the same, but doubtful as you say (HUD, Meridian audio, etc.), the year model difference would impact residual value. I realize MY has to change at some point (2016 Evoque is now on the UK site), and I am by no means one of those people who tries to complain and get freebies, but I will be quite upset if the MY changes so quick after introduction and will ask my dealer or LR for some sort of 'early adopter' recompense (e.g., service plan, map updates, extended SirisXM, accessories).
Well, April to July=12 weeks and I stated it as what amounts to several weeks. At least a short enough time for dealers to be aware that a 2016 was imminent; especially if they told a customer to expect a late July delivery and that the 2016s would be way off-like the winter. And I suspect that when you bought your 2010 in July you were aware that the 2011s were coming in August? At that time you had the informed choice of getting a 2010 or 2011.Hi,
I'm not sure there is much you will be able to get. I'm fairly sure I have seen people that bought Discovery Sports in the US, that were sold in April. That's a little longer than a few weeks. Granted, most of them we have seen or heard about on the forums have been within the last month or so. I have yet to even see one at my dealer, but this is Nebraska. Which I must point out at this time must be the safest place in the world to live; even if the end of the world happened tomorrow, it would take 10 years to finally get here.
I bought my 2010 LR4 in July and the first 2011s were coming in middle to late August. While I think that is crazy to have the switch so early, it seems to be common place with LR. I'm at least 6 months away from buying one, so hopefully that dead time in January will help me get a good deal.
Good luck!
Rob

My point is, the argument could be made of should I take delivery of a 2015 when it has been indicated by some here on the forum that if I now were to wait a few additional weeks I could get a 2016 with potentially additional features? The UK 2016 specs indicate as available: 17-speaker Meridian audio, InControl Remote Premium with lock/unlock/heat/cool, hands-free powered tailgate. As a related example, the 2016 Evoque has had a refreshed interior and additional features added with supposedly comparable pricing to its 2015 predecessor.
Thanks! When did you place your order? We ordered a 2016 Disco Lux and was told yesterday that our delivery would be Sept 4th. Hang in there!
According to my dealer the sound system has been upgraded (not sure whether it is Meridian though) and In-Control apps (remote start/stop etc.) is now standard. However instead of 19" wheels, only 18" wheels are standard now, although of a nicer design. My dealer told me there's nothing different between the 2015 and 2016. Yep based in US. Hoping to find out delivery dates soon.Hi,
Are you in the US? Very interesting information your dealer has provided. I think 18" wheels are standard on lower level DS models already. And there is an upgraded sound system that comprises 11 speakers available as an upgrade.
The in-control remote stop/start is a nice addition.
Good luck guys! I can't wait to see your new hardware show up on the pages here.

Congratulations on the order! Things have definitely moved up, just got confirmation from my dealer that delivery will be early August (originally it was going to be end of August). I placed the order in mid-May.Glad I discovered this forum. Was with my dad when he test drove and leased his LR4 last week, and convinced myself (didn't take much arm twisting) to buy a Disco Sport. My purchase order is for a 2016 HSE, Loire Blue, Almond Interior, Driver Assist Package, Auto High Beam Assit, Adaptive Xenon Headlamps, 18" Wheels.
Hadn't even realized it was a 2016 until we started doing the math on the price. I've asked my salesman if he has any marketing material on the 16 to see what is new, but I can confirm that it's got 18" wheels.
My estimated delivery date is 8/25 but the manager said things have been ahead of schedule lately so it might be sooner.
Wait...I'm confused by your post. You ordered a new Discovery Sport but don't know the cost of the vehicle you ordered?Congratulations on the order! Btw what is the pricing you are seeing? My dealer was not able to provide pricing..
Yes:-( I am getting a lease on this and when I ordered the lease terms were not out for the '16. The order is non-binding, so if financials do not work out I am not on the hook...Wait...I'm confused by your post. You ordered a new Discovery Sport but don't know the cost of the vehicle you ordered?
Oh nice...good to know! I'm on here because I'm strongly considering leasing a new DS as well but I have a couple months yet before I have to make a decision. I actually started a thread on here titled "Leasing" a couple of weeks ago looking for some direction from others who have, or are going through the process. Here's a link to that thread: http://www.discoverysport.net/forum/dealers-purchasing-ordering/3241-leasing.htmlYes:-( I am getting a lease on this and when I ordered the lease terms were not out for the '16. Are you planning on leasing yours as well or are you buying?$1,000 was my deposit to reserve my car for purchasing as well (which was pretty funny considering I traded in my car at the same time)
