Hi, I bought this 2016 Land Rover discovery sport last year and now I am getting the check engine light. When I got it checked. It has P0016 and P0017. I had purchased the extended warranty and now the company is refusing to pay for it as they are saying that this is not a lubricant part and is not covered under warranty. Is it not a lubricant part ?
If anyone can please guide me

Hi it could be the camshaft sensor or the camshaft solenoid problem. Why are they telling you an engine part is not covered?

I did ask them but they said they only cover the lubricant parts and this is not a lubricant part. I have a warranty by the”Global Warranty”

Hi
It is sort of safe to drive for short while but performance and fuel economy will suffer, and there may be more damage to other parts since timing is changed.

I would have it looked at asap! It is a Ford EcoBoost in your model so need to go to a specialist garage.

Others have changed out the part so maybe someone will give a cost estimate, but should not be very costly. 😢

Thanks for your help. The quote I have is way beyond my imagination.
