The 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport has made its official debut, and along with that we have official pricing. In the US, the Discovery Sport will start at $37,995. It will replace the LR2 and b e sold beside the LR4 until that is phased out.

What do you think of the Discovery Sport's pricing? Is this around what you were thinking of paying?

For the price, I don't know of any other luxury competitors with 5+2 seating. That's going to be a huge selling point for the money.

I don't know if 7 seats will be the make or break option in segment. I mean yes its nice, but I don't think someone decides to go Disco over X3 because of an extra two seats. If you NEED the extra two seats you should be getting a larger car...
Those seats will be more like value adders, nothing I would see as a main reason for getting this. Also with 7 seats, it could get really tight in their
I think that the 7 seat option is not for people who will be using them all the time, its for people who think that they may use it sometimes. Most of the time you want a small SUV, but maybe sometimes you go on road trips with friends, or babysit some extra kids or something.

I don't know if US spec cars will have this but, 2015 Discovery sports will not allow 5+2 seating pkg to combine with Vision assist pkg & Driver assist pkg.

Really?! That surprises me. You can't get two of the best packages if you go with the seven seat model. Sounds like a good reason to look elsewhere if you were really set on getting a 7-seater car. I wonder why they made that decision.
but then again those 2 seats in the back don't do too much for you, but of course if you absolutely need to fit two more people, it's their, still not that great for space.

Just confirmed with Land Rover Canada that 5+2 seat pkg will not be combined with Driver assist or Vision pkg in Canada for 2015 models or foreseeable future.

They do not want to hurt sales of the LR4. US spec cars however will get these option to combined the 3 pkg's. I hate these games these car manufactures pull. This changes my mind on buying this vehicle. Was really hoping to get a small SUV with a 7 seat option for the kids. This would have been the perfect car.

I could live without the blind spot detection but, my wife has gotten use to the reverse sensors & blind spot monitor from our past vehicle.
Packaging options is an annoying practice, but it is par for the course at this point. I just wonder if this move actually makes them money in the end, or if it ends up driving customers away.
