2016 Discovery Sport cracked turbo manifold. $5,250 to replace. Can it be welded?
Totally agree with Bill F - my experience is an LR2 so different engine but same idea - was quoted outrageous price by 'LR specialist shop' for replacement unit ($3.5k for the turbo - $5.5k fitted). Managed to obtain the new turbo/manifold assy (Borg Warner OEM) for $1200 & a local shop fitted the unit for around $1000. Best deal possible - new manifold, new turbine, etc. Was happy in the end.Hi Brent
If you go online and search you can find numerous places that offer the turbo and manifold at great prices. One example is New Factory Turbochargers Replacement Turbo For Land Rover Discovery Sport Range Rover Evoque TUR-100319-FTN but not the only one around and maybe not the cheapest either.
Manifolds can be welded but would need to be removed from the car to do the work so maybe for a few dollars more you can have a brand new turbo on your 2016 model.
