Gee, I don't have any trouble with mine in the default position. My head never hits it unless I lean back. Good thing, cause I don't like the chiropractor. ;-)

If you sit curved, you won't have the problem. If you sit straight up, then you are going to feel the pressure.

I plan on reversing mine as well.

There are three retention clips at the bottom of the seat back, so you need to pry the bottom

Just to confirm, you mean simply get the fingers inside the back panel and pull out? (OR slide the panel up then pull out?) I just want to make sure not to break any clips that are holding the back panel or else they won't "snap" back on later.
