I read that the UK version of the 2018 Discovery Sport will include new Ingenium engines (both petrol and diesel). Does anyone know if the US models will get the new engine? The Disco Sport has everything I want except the engine/transmission combo, so if it gets the Ingenium engine I'm all in. Also, if anyone has any other news on the 2018 model, please post.
My local dealer (Metrowest Boston) confirmed the US will be getting a 247hp and 287hp variant of the new engines sometime late fall. He received his 2018 builds last week.
Doesn't the US market already have the JLR 2.0 Ingenium gas engine? Or are you talking about the upgraded 293hp engine that's supposed to be the X3M, SQ5 competitor?
Interesting. That's not what Wikipedia claims. Someone may want to update Wikipedia?
I just got a 17MY in Canada. How does one identify the engine is indeed the ford eco boost engine under the hood?
The US already got the Ingenium engines when the 2017 model years arrived back at the end of 2016. I got my Discovery Sport back on Christmas Eve of 2016 and it has the new Ingenium engine in it.
Aren't all US sold DS using the Ford Eco Boost 2L engine with Land Rover stamped parts ??
I thought in order to get the new Ingenium engines, you have to step into the new larger full sized Discovery (replaced LR4), Jaguar F Pace or Range Rovers ??
you are correct. 2018 will have ingenium engines but not sure if we will get the 300hp alternative like the UK did. 2017 - 2015 is the ecoboost 2.0lT
