Tuned!

Hello all, check this blog out. It added a lot more fun to drive the DS. I will find time to write a full review soon.

yes, I installed myself. it was quite easy once I figured out where those 2 plugs were located. it took a bit of time to find an ideal spot to place it though. took me about an hour total to install, including stabilizing the box and zip tie all the loose harness. but I think if I ever take it out and reinstall, I can get it done much quicker.

This could be the answer to my complaint about low-end performance!

Sound like just the ticket - $800 though? Wish I could test drive a car with it installed...

Gotta think hard about this one. Keep us posted disco808 on how it goes, please.

It does LRD. Rpm stays up till 6000 before shifts gear. It pulls harder on low end and takes off quick. Day 3 with it installed. Happy with it so far.

Says it won't affect your warranty??

(I always feel like I have to talk about my Audi). If I tune my Audi, and it's proven you can't hide it even if you detune it before going in for service, the service computer flags your car TD1 and any engine related warranty work is denied....

Having said that, turbo engines are great for tuning. Lots of untapped power waiting.

How was your Audi tuned? If it's a flash on cars ecu itself then it's detectable. If I'm not mistaken, This is an add on chip, a piggyback solution that just taps into the ecu and alters timing and boost of the car. Once removed or unplugged car goes back to stock 100%. Unlike flashing the ecu which is permanent, this tuning box does not rewrite or reprogram it.

Only way to tune an Audi (or VW) is rewriting the ECU.

I'm going to guess the tuning community isn't very strong with Land Rovers and they're not actively sought out.

I am glad to see performance chip add on boxes for the Land Rover since it's such a small sales amount compared to the big Euro manufacturers.

I hope someone will come up with tuning (remote coding) like the BMW, Merc and Audi for the LR....
